Description
Kekkilä Seedling Soil is an airy special product for seeds and seedlings, lightly fertilised and permeable enough to ensure healthy growth of tender young plants.
Fine and uniform in texture, Seedling Soil makes it easy to fill growing pots or boxes and provides a firm and level seed bed.
Kekkilä Seedling Soil contains carefully sifted peats as well as sand, lime and the minimum amount of fertiliser. During their early stages of development, seedlings grow best in a lightly fertilised soil, but within a few weeks they should be given extra fertiliser.
Instructions
Place the soil in a growing container of your choice, then pat down and water the soil. Sow the seeds. To reduce water evaporation, the seeds can be covered with a very thin layer of soil. Do not, however, cover seeds that need light to germinate.
Transfer larger seedlings to larger containers or their final position. From this point on, use soil that is richer in nutrients than Seedling Soil.
Use your Seedling Soil immediately if possible, or store cold away from light. Nutrient loss occurs due to the influence of time, temperature and humidity.
